Module 01

Discovering God

Discovering God

“What comes to your mind when you think of God is the most important thing about you.” A.W. Tozer wrote that and of course he was right. The business of our lives—no less than the life of our businesses—is energized by where we think we came from and where we think we’re going. This study explores how discovering God may make the difference between a life characterized by one accident after another or a life lived on purpose.

Of course there’s nothing bigger than the question of God—whether a person believes there is or isn’t a Creator to worship, obey and trust.

The person whose ideas about God are already set in concrete—whether he’s dead set against the very idea of God or comfortably settled down with home-grown notions of a tamed and domesticated God—will find his notions challenged by the stories of creation and creativity in the Bible text.

This first module in the Scriptural Roots of Commerce explores the text from Genesis to Revelation searching for evidence that God interacted with humankind firsthand.

What's left for contemporary learners is figuring out what that means for contemporary life and work.
