InsideWork pursues studies at the nexus of three research catagories:
- descriptive/demographic research into populations, markets and trends
- scientific/casual research to build theories about why markets work as they do
- biblical research into the underlying values of God’s kingdom working in all of life
The search for morals and meaning at work, as well as the desire to experience the peace and purpose of business, are ‘inner’ truths, alive in the hearts of millions of people. These internal realities profoundly affect people’s behavior
Patricia Aburdene, Megatrends 2010
Why do research? Because contemporary consulting is seldom based on anything beyond the consultant’s experience and reading list. InsideWork is determined — in all our venues, from this website to InsideWork events to InsideWork consulting engagements — to offer best of class business insight, validated by solid research.
InsideWork is not trying to peddle “Christianized” business practices or uncritically propagate noxious-but-profitable business practices to people of faith. We are developing a third alternative that is thoroughly biblical and powerfully practical.
ON THE BOOKS: Unleashing the Power of Biblical Spirituality in Business
The Global Commerce Network has engaged InsideWork and National Demographics Corporation to design and conduct a major national research project on biblical spirituality in business. Never before has a study been conducted that:
- Examines the contributions and influence of biblical spirituality in business
- Identifies the challenges and opportunities of conducting business from the a biblical worldview
Spirituality is today’s greatest megatrend, but where is it taking us?
Patricia Aburdene, Megatrends 2010
Four Primary Questions:
- Who are the business leaders who operate from biblical spirituality?
- How does this affect their business vision, practices, and outcomes?
- What are the challenges they face as a result of their biblical spirituality and how do we help them?
- How do we build a national network that links business people to help them live out their biblical spirituality more effectively?
Other firsts:
- Conduct a national sample survey of Biblically-based businesses
- Report in-depth interviews with hundreds of business leaders about their implementation of Biblically-based practices
- Develop national database of Biblically-based businesses
- Publish nationally significant case histories of Biblically-based business practices
- Develop a body of business solutions and services based on this research
- Create a framework of university business curriculum based on a Biblical worldview
- Create a web-based assessment that evaluates organizational, strategic, and cultural alignment from a Biblical perspective
- Create a private social network for this “tribe”
- Develop a Forum on Business and Biblical Spirituality
Spiritual transformation, triggered at the individual level, is now spilling over from the personal to the institutional … Spirituality in business is springing up all over.
Patricia Aburdene, Megatrends 2010
