While the headlines are filled with the woes of big business, I’m convinced our economy survives on the courageous efforts of small business owners and independent operators (Daniel Pink refers to them as Free Agent Nation). These folks are the ones most likely to be our neighbors. Some have been here a while. Others are making the leap to entrepreneurship—some on purpose, some out of necessity.

This video is a series of interviews by small business owners and free agents. It reveals their inspiration and their challenges in their own words. It gives us insight into the lifestyle and the commitment of these folks. And it also gives us inspiration and hope for these challenging times.
