Our friend Ron Magnus got an email from a colleague that included an interesting wish list reflecting what people want in the next generation of business leaders. “Early research and survey work,” the email said, “indicates a need for a new generation of leaders who are:
- ethically and morally grounded
- servant leader orientated
- have great character traits (trustworthy, responsible, integrous, respectful, kind, etc.)
- level 5 leaders (Jim Collins in Good to Great)
- grounded in a strong Christian worldview”
That list makes complete sense to us at InsideWork because helping businesspeople develop a new generation of leaders who will take their companies forward is an important activity for us.

- Or maybe you’re on the other end of the transaction—trying to figure out what you need to bring to the table if you want to develop as a business leader… If so, what do you wish senior leaders would do to help you prepare for the coming transition in your company? I’m in the process of developing a student organization on college capuses called AVODAH Student Fellowship International where we serve to develop the very "new generation of leaders who are…" mentioned above!
I’d be very interested to learn more about this "early research and survey work" as I am also in the process of conducting a survey related to this subject.
We are looking for professionals who are interested in possibly mentoring college students and/or sharing their experiences with integrating their faith with their careers. We are also looking for Christian businesses that would be interested in offering internships for our students.
