PETER DRUCKER

1909 - 2005

Faith is the belief that in God the impossible is possible, that in Him time and eternity are one, that both life and death are meaningful. Faith is the knowledge that man is creature—not autonomous, not the master, not the end, not the center—and yet responsible and free. It is the acceptance of man’s essential loneliness, to be overcome by the certainty that God is always with man, even "unto the hour of our death."

—Peter Drucker, in The Ecological Vision

  • The Timeless Peter Drucker

I am glad that Peter Drucker had a long and prosperous life, for we are considerably blessed with his know-how and experience. His thoughts are beyond comparison - for he was a rare individual that understood the essential transformations of man that are so relevant to the 21st Century and beyond.

It is not simply that he describes management as the new technology but that his writing is so accessible for all students of management. He lived his life with wisdom and he has left behind far more than a measure of worth and because of the value of a complete and exemplary life it is the measure of man that I honor here.

He was truly a faithful servant whose spirit will continue to serve generations to come, for he didn’t just talk about management and he was way more than simply ahead of his time, Peter Drucker is (and not was) timeless.

Very people are timeless. Those rare people whose way of life is timeless is due to the quality and strength of their heart and it is the heart which is the connection to G-d for what flows abundantly from a timeless heart are rivers of living water and this is the evidence of true faith.

So I don’t simply acknowledge here a life time’s worth of magnificent achievement and contribution to business insight but far more important, and what this is what is most worthy about recognizing and learning from the life of Peter Drucker, is his fundamentally strong character and spiritual goodness not simply the flow of the brilliance of his timeless valuable contributions.
