We’ve never done this before, but we wanted to give you a little update on what’s happening at InsideWork in recent weeks — and say how glad we are to be on this journey with you!
First of all, our website audience doubled in the last month. Though we are still a modest startup (or upstart?) we are seeing growth in the IW community with friends joining us from places as widely scattered as Boston, Washington D.C., New York, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Irvine, Chantilly, VA and Denver to France, South Africa, Zambia, Singapore, and China. Exciting stuff!

The Scriptural Roots of Commerce materials are being used around the world. We received email this month from a professor in Zambia who is using these materials in his classes. A pastor in Arkansas is using the SRC in a businessmen’s ministry. Another business group traveling to East Asia presented the SRC and InsideWork to a symposium of 160 CEO’s. In preparing for this event we also created a customized webpage for the symposium…our first international language version! We’re also negotiating to have the SRC translated into Portuguese for the Brazilian market. And we also have recruited our first foreign correspondent to represent us in Brazil.
Our business services are growing…

Dan Wooldridge was busy consulting over the past weeks. Among other things, he led a leadership retreat in Keystone, CO helping an executive team through the key leadership lessons learned from a challenging year. The purpose of the exercise was to learn from each other, extract lessons to be passed on for the development of emerging leaders, and improve executive judgment and decision-making. In these complex and fast changing times, helping everyone in an organization develop better judgment is huge. Next, Dan traveled to New York to complete a one year phase of leadership development with a major international financial services organization. His concluding one-day session was on The Innovation Advantage. This session focused on the strategic imperative of intentionally developing innovation as a corporate discipline. He finished out the month with the CEO of one of our clients, a major commercial builder in the northeast, to debrief on a multiyear project to redesign the company’s strategy and organization for the future, while developing a process for the selecting, developing, and deploying the next generation of leaders throughout the company.
We are in discussions with several organizations for our advisory services that combine a biblical worldview with many years of experience in strategy, leadership, and organizational development.
During his trip to New York, Dan was compelled to make a pilgrimage…
Our event, More Than Money, has been moved to February 2007. Part of the reason is that we are expanding the schedule and content to provide a more comprehensive treatment of the subject. We have brought together a world-class group of experts to guide you in preparing and creating your personal financial legacy. This event goes far beyond “how to make money” and helps you learn how to create an enduring impact with the resources that God has given you. We’re excited about those who will be presenting because each of their lives is so worthy of emulation, spiritually and professionally. And we’re excited about those who will be attending because of the caliber of your lives and the contributions you are making. Please join us in San Francisco!
Our newsletter was launched a couple of months ago, and we’ve been very encouraged by the feedback. Let us know what you would like to see included in the future. And please pass it along to friends and colleagues.

We published the first four in a series of five downloadable mini-books, topical compilations of our articles from this first year. The titles: Worldview, Creating Value, Talent, and Integrity. The last in the series: Disruptive Change. These will be compiled into one book, soon to be released online. We have a couple of other book projects in the pipeline.

In the coming months we will expand our downloadable tools.
We are working to provide a more community oriented dimension to our site. We want to connect with you and enable you to connect with each other. There’s no doubt in our minds that with a “little help from our friends” we can develop a new generation of tools and resources to help people in the marketplace with the challenges we all face. We want to be the "go-to" place for clear, practical Biblical thinking on business issues and marketplace challenges.
We’ll keep you updated in the days ahead. And please, please…let us hear from you. Your input, feedback, and contributions are critical in making this site more and more useful to all of us in the marketplace.
Grateful to be in the journey with you…Soli Deo Gloria!
