It's very simple and straight forward. You may try to put your own spin on it, but "A camel has a better chance of fitting through the eye of a needle than a rich man has in entering the kindom of heaven" is pretty clear. And I seriously doubt that Jesus Christ was interested in shock factor.

What an interesting article. You are correct - you very rarely hear sermons regarding this issue and the quest for financial success is often frowned upon - for some strange reason. In many Christian circles more focus is often placed on going into the ministry and that working in the secular world is 2nd best but I have realised that if Christians do not stay in the workforce then how does the world see Christ there. In working hard with strong ethical practices, determination and joy I think you could be an incredible example to people and live your life to the full - the way God intended.

Thank you for writing the article on the shrinking camel. I have gone through the entire Bible on the topics of prosperity, favor, inheritance, blessings, etc...and I am convinced that the preaching of the 'gospel of poverty' (the antithesis of prosperity) is not scriptural. I can almost hear you say 'duuuh!'. As I struggle trying to figure out where I stand, I find your thoughts to be a breath of fresh air. Thanks
