Galatians 6:7-10
New International Version
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
John Calvin
Heaven is Not My Home (p 85), Paul Marshall, Word Publishing, 1998
It is not enough when one can say, “Oh, I work, I have my trade, I set the pace.” This is not enough; for one must be concerned whether it is good and profitable to the community and if it is able to serve our neighbors...And this is why we are compared to members of a body. The life of the Godly is justly compared to trading, for they ought naturally to exchange and barter with one another in order to maintain intercourse.
