Announcing the Release of our Latest eBook
John Sipple's Back to the Cottage

by Dan Wooldridge

Dear Friends of InsideWork:

The business bookshelves are cluttered with the latest books on leadership. You can see why. You look around and see organizations desperate for good leadership. People want leaders they can trust and who are capable of guiding their organizations in tough, confusing, and complex times. Each new book claims to reveal the secret, or the next new thing that leaders need to do. My own take is that much of it is pseudo-research. A lot of them are just simplistic and packaged (and repackaged) formulas, sprinkled with a few good stories. A few “how I did it” books might be helpful, but are often out of reach, practically speaking, to most of the readers. And in spite of all the sales of these books, from where I sit as a leadership advisor I see little improvement.

So there is still a need for a good book on leadership. The book needs to be simple, but not simplistic in the points it makes. The most profound truths are simple and clear. The book also needs to rooted in reality, accessible to the experience of the reader, and utterly practical in its application. And the book needs to be grounded in inspiring and enduring truths rather than fads and trends. Is there such a book? There is.

John Sipple

InsideWork is pleased to announce the release of Back to the Cottage by John Sipple, President of the Business Resource Network, a management consulting firm that specializes in executive coaching and leadership development. John has over 30 years of management experience at both Dupont and Procter & Gamble. He has over 20 successful organizational start-up or change initiatives to his credit.

Back to the Cottage unpacks John’s numerous leadership experiences and traces the development of the values and principles that made him an effective leader. These are the lessons learned not in a high powered educational institution or a corporate leader development boot camp, but in his family’s Cottage business of his youth.

A little full disclosure is in order here. John is also a personal friend and mentor who has made a deep impact on my life. To this day, he continues to encourage and challenge me. John’s wide-ranging professional experience alone makes his book worth reading. But what you will also get is the benefit of his deep faith and wisdom. You’ll find Back to the Cottage both insightful and inspirational. Like John, the book is straightforward, practical, and profound.

As a subscriber to The InsideWork Newsletter, you will be receiving these digital chapters in advance of the book’s publication, a chapter per week. We hope you will enjoy and benefit from the book. And don’t hesitate to share this with your colleagues.

You will gain a better understanding of how to lead and build leaders. You’ll find that you have more leaders in your organization than you might have imagined. And you will find yourself getting clearer on the truly important priorities for life and leadership.

Sincerely,
Dan Wooldridge
President, InsideWork
